Mostary became the first Bangladeshi woman to score an ODI century against Australia and the first from her country to make an ODI hundred on Australian soil. Her 118 also became the highest individual score by a Bangladesh woman in ODI cricket, moving past Fargana Hoque’s 107 against India in Mirpur in 2023. Mostary became the third Bangladeshi woman to score an ODI century, and her hundred was the country’s fourth individual century in the format’s history.

Bangladesh were in trouble when Mostary walked in, having lost three wickets for eight runs in 7.2 overs. She joined captain Nigar Sultana Jyoti and helped rebuild the innings with a 195-run partnership for the fourth wicket. It was the highest partnership in Bangladesh women’s ODI cricket and the highest partnership against Australia in the format. Their stand changed the course of the innings and gave Bangladesh a chance to post a competitive total after the early collapse.

Jyoti contributed 74 from 114 balls, including seven fours, supporting Mostary as the pair rebuilt the innings. Their partnership took Bangladesh beyond 200 and helped the team finish on 220/6 after 50 overs. This became Bangladesh’s highest ODI total against Australia. At 47.5 overs, Bangladesh had reached 203/4, with Mostary’s century anchoring the innings. The stand offered a response after Bangladesh lost the series opener.

Mostary’s score moved her past other ODI innings by Bangladesh women. Fargana Hoque had made 107 against India in Mirpur in 2023 and 102 against South Africa in Potchefstroom in 2023. Jyoti had scored 101 against Thailand in Lahore in 2025. Mostary’s 118 now stands as Bangladesh’s highest individual ODI score. Before this match, her best score against Australia was an unbeaten 66 from 80 balls in Vizag during the 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup.

Her century was notable for its scoring rate as well as its total. Mostary scored at a strike rate of 88.05, while the other Bangladesh batters combined for 87 runs from 166 balls at a strike rate of 52.40. She reached her hundred from 124 balls, making it the second-fastest ODI century by a Bangladeshi batter, behind Jyoti’s 80-ball hundred. Mostary’s 18 fours helped Bangladesh keep the scoreboard moving despite the early loss of wickets.

Bangladesh entered the second ODI after losing the opening match by seven wickets, so the team needed a response. Mostary’s innings and her partnership with Jyoti helped the visitors recover from 8-3 and reach 220/6. Schutt took four wickets for 36 runs and had put Bangladesh under pressure with her early strikes, but the middle-order stand steadied the innings. Her innings remained central to Bangladesh’s recovery and final total.

The records from the innings included Mostary’s maiden ODI century, Bangladesh’s first women’s ODI hundred against Australia, the first Bangladeshi woman’s ODI century on Australian soil, and the country’s highest individual ODI score. The 195-run stand became Bangladesh’s highest partnership in women’s ODIs and the highest against Australia, while 220/6 marked the team’s highest ODI total against the hosts. Mostary’s century gave Bangladesh a chance to level the three-match series.
