Hampshire Women have reached the final of the ECB Women’s One-Day Cup 2026 after a strong league campaign and a big win over Surrey Women in the Eliminator. They finished second in the league table with 56 points from 16 matches, winning 12 games, losing three and having one no-result. Hampshire then produced another dominant performance in the Eliminator, beating Surrey by 194 runs in Southampton on September 16. They will now face The Blaze Women in the final on September 19 in Southampton. Their journey to the final has included strong batting performances, important wins and a bowling attack that has regularly put pressure on the opposition.
A Strong Start Gave Hampshire Early Confidence
Hampshire began their One-Day Cup campaign in April and made a positive start to the tournament. On April 11, they defeated Essex Women by five wickets after chasing 265 and finishing on 266/5. Their second match against Warwickshire Women on April 15 ended without a result after Warwickshire made 354/7. Hampshire returned to winning ways against Durham Women on April 25, chasing 118 and reaching 121/4 to win by six wickets. Four days later, they beat Surrey Women by 13 runs after posting 272/5 and restricting Surrey to 259.
The early part of the competition also brought Hampshire some difficult results. They suffered their first defeat on May 2 when Lancashire Women chased down 153 to win by six wickets. Hampshire responded strongly against Somerset Women on May 6, chasing 282/5 after Somerset made 281/6 and winning by five wickets. They then defeated Yorkshire Women by 16 runs through the DLS method on May 13 after scoring 205/7 in 38 overs while Yorkshire finished on 196/8 in 38 overs. Their opening eight matches ended with another defeat, as The Blaze Women chased 209 to win by three wickets on May 15.
A Strong Winning Run Put Hampshire in Control
Hampshire returned to action in June and quickly built another strong run of results. They defeated Somerset Women by 39 runs on June 13 after making 303/7 and bowling Somerset out for 264. Four days later, Hampshire produced one of their most convincing league wins, beating Essex Women by 10 wickets after Essex were dismissed for 245. Hampshire then continued their good form against Warwickshire Women on June 24, winning by 71 runs after scoring 265/7 and restricting Warwickshire to 194.
After a break in the competition, Hampshire continued their winning form in August and September. They beat Surrey Women by four wickets on August 19 before losing to Lancashire Women by four wickets on August 26. Hampshire bounced back by defeating Durham Women by nine wickets on September 3 and then beat Yorkshire Women by seven wickets on September 6. In their final league match, they defeated The Blaze Women by seven wickets on September 9, before making an even bigger statement in the Eliminator by beating Surrey by 194 runs.
Maia Bouchier and Ella McCaughan Lead the Batting
Hampshire’s batting has been one of the main reasons behind their successful campaign. Maia Bouchier has been the standout batter, scoring 721 runs in 11 matches at an average of 80.11. She has also scored four centuries, showing how consistently she has been able to make big contributions during the tournament. Abi Norgrove has also played an important role with 573 runs from 17 matches at an average of 47.75, giving Hampshire another dependable run-scorer in their batting group.
Ella McCaughan has added further stability to the middle order, scoring 553 runs in 16 matches at an average of 39.50. Along with Bouchier and Norgrove, players such as Poppy Tulloch and Naomi Dattani have provided further batting support. This depth has helped Hampshire recover from difficult situations and put up competitive totals when batting first. The three bowlers have given Hampshire important wicket-taking options throughout the competition. Their ability to break partnerships and keep the opposition under pressure has supported Hampshire’s strong overall record and helped the team defend totals as well as control the opposition during chases.

Maia Bouchier brings experience from the international level, while Ellyse Perry adds the experience of one of the most established names in women’s cricket. The two sides have already met during the league stage, with The Blaze winning their May 15 meeting by three wickets before Hampshire returned the favour with a seven-wicket win on September 9. Their latest meeting gives Hampshire another chance to build on their recent result, but the final will be a separate contest with the trophy at stake.
Hampshire enter the final after finishing second in the league and then producing a huge 194-run victory against Surrey in the Eliminator. Their campaign has included 12 league wins, strong performances with both bat and ball, and contributions from several players across the squad.
