Melbourne Renegades have added Australian Cricket Territory (ACT) Meteors pair Annie Wikman and Olivia Porter to their Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) 12 squad. Wikman enjoyed a standout 2025-26 WNCL season and finished fifth among the competition’s run-scorers. Porter, meanwhile, brings an attacking style and plenty of power to the top order. Their addition gives the Renegades more batting options for WBBL 12. Both players now have the chance to continue their domestic form with the club in WBBL 12 and make an impact this season.

Wikman was one of the leading performers during the 2025-26 WNCL season, scoring 540 runs to finish fifth on the competition’s run-scoring list. The right-hander also made her maiden WNCL century. Her hundred came against Victoria in Canberra, where she stayed unbeaten on 142 from 136 balls. Her consistent run-making has now earned her an opportunity with the Renegades.
Porter also reached an important milestone last season by making her maiden WNCL century against Tasmania. The 24-year-old right-hander attacked the bowling throughout the innings, hitting three sixes and 12 boundaries. She has long been known for her explosive stroke-play in the T20 format. That ability was also clear during last year’s T20 Spring Challenge, when she scored an unbeaten 57 against the Renegades. Her attacking approach gives the side another powerful option in the batting order and adds variety to the Renegades’ batting group.
Renegades head coach Gavan Twining welcomed both players and said he was looking forward to seeing them become part of the group. He praised Wikman’s consistency and run-building. Twining also highlighted Porter’s ability to change the course of a match quickly with her power. “Annie and Olivia are two exciting young players who are hungry to make their mark. Annie’s consistency and the way she built her runs last season was outstanding, and Olivia has the power to change a game in a handful of overs. We can’t wait to have them both in red and to see what they can bring to our group this summer.”
Melbourne Renegades’ WBBL 12 squad so far:
Deandra Dottin (West Indies), Nicole Faltum, Tess Flintoff, Milly Illingworth, Sara Kennedy, Hayley Matthews (West Indies), Olvia Porter, Sophie Molineux, Tayla Vlaeminck, Georgia Wareham, Courtney Webb, Annie Wikman
The announcement also comes as the Renegades launch a 2-for-1 ticket offer to all WBBL fixtures as part of the Red October sale. Their arrival follows productive domestic seasons for the ACT Meteors, with Wikman providing consistency and Porter offering aggressive batting throughout the season. The two players now have an opportunity to bring their respective strengths into the Renegades setup for WBBL 12.
Wikman and Porter join the Renegades after putting together impressive performances for the ACT Meteors. Wikman’s 540 runs, fifth-place finish and unbeaten 142 highlighted her WNCL campaign, while Porter’s maiden century, three sixes, 12 boundaries and unbeaten 57 against the Renegades showed her attacking ability. With 12 list spots filled, the Renegades now have both players available for WBBL 12. Their contrasting styles give the squad two useful batting options for the season ahead as the season begins.
