Bangladesh have announced their squad for the ACC Women’s Asia Cup 2026 in Dubai, UAE, and the 20th Asian Games in Japan. The Bangladesh side will enter these competitions with several familiar players who were part of their recent international campaign. The squad includes a mix of experienced cricketers and players who have already shown what they can do at the international level. Bangladesh will look to this group to continue building on their recent performances. The team will begin its Asia Cup campaign on 31 August against Indonesia, giving the players a clear target before the Asian Games begin.

Bangladesh Squad for Women’s Asia Cup 2026 and Asian Games 2026

Sarmin Sultana is one of the players to watch in the squad after making her T20I debut in May this year. She will feature as a top-order batter and already has experience in the ODI format, having played 16 games. Her inclusion gives Bangladesh another option in the top order. Sobhana Mostary and Juairiya Ferdous are also included after getting starts in the top order during the Women’s T20 World Cup.

Shorna Akter is another important name in the group after her unbeaten knocks played a crucial role in Bangladesh’s T20 World Cup wins over the Netherlands and Pakistan. She will again be part of the setup for the Asia Cup and Asian Games. Ritu Moni is also included and will be ready to contribute as an all-rounder. Both players were important parts of Bangladesh’s recent success and will have another chance to contribute.

The bowling attack will have Marufa Akter as its main pace option, with support from Ritu Moni and Fariha Islam Trisna. Marufa also produced an impressive moment at the Women’s T20 World Cup when she dismissed South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt with her first delivery. Nahida Akter, meanwhile, remains an important part of the bowling group and will also take on the responsibility of vice-captain. Her experience will be useful as Bangladesh prepare for the upcoming competitions.

Bangladesh’s Asia Cup campaign will begin on 31 August against Indonesia. The team will then also turn its attention to the 20th Asian Games, which are due to take place in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 17 to September 22, 2026. With Joty continuing as captain and Nahida as her deputy, Bangladesh will have experienced leadership for both events. Experienced players will support younger members, while batters and bowlers will look to contribute whenever Bangladesh need them most in both competitions.
