The tournament has been divided into two groups, with four teams in each group. Group A includes India, Pakistan, Thailand and Hong Kong, China, while Group B features Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Indonesia. Every team will play the other three sides in its group during the league stage. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals.

One of the biggest attractions of the tournament will once again be the clash between India and Pakistan, as both teams have been placed in the same group. Defending champions Sri Lanka will begin their campaign in Group B, where they will face Bangladesh, UAE and Indonesia. Every match will be important because there are only a few league games. A single win or loss could make a big difference in the race for the knockout stage.

The league stage will begin on August 28 and continue until September 8, with one match scheduled every evening. Every group-stage fixture will begin at 6:30 PM. Once the league matches are completed, the tournament will move into the knockout stage. The top two teams from each group will then battle for a place in the grand final. Supporters can expect competitive cricket from the first match until the last.
