The ICC Under-19 Women’s Asia Qualifier 2026 for the upcoming 3rd edition of the Under-19 T20 World Cup 2027 was originally slated to be hosted by Hong Kong from 20th to 29th April earlier this year but was eventually rescheduled to be hosted by Malaysia from 23rd to 29th July 2026.
A total of eight teams, namely UAE, Malaysia, Qatar, and Hong Kong in Group A, and Thailand, Bhutan, Myanmar, and Kuwait in Group B, participated in the Asia Qualifiers in Malaysia, with just one spot up for grabs for the upcoming 3rd edition of the Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup in 2027.
The United Arab Emirates, led by skipper Mehak Thakur, sealed that spot in an edge-of-the-seat thriller by 1 run against Malaysia in the final at the Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur, on 29th July 2026.
United Arab Emirates
Led by skipper Mehak Thakur, they were placed in Group A and were the only unbeaten side in the group with 6 points from 3 games, ending as the table-toppers of the group. Janani Thirukkumaran Anusuya Devi ended as the leading run-scorer for her side with 105 runs at a strike rate of 87.50 and an average of 52.50 in four innings, including a half-century in five matches with the bat for her side in the tournament. They narrowly missed out on a spot in the upcoming 3rd edition of the ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup in 2027, courtesy of their 1-run defeat to UAE in the final. The Malaysian skipper Irdina Beh Nabil led from the front in the bowling department, with 9 wickets at an average of 7.78 and an economy of 4.24 in five innings and five matches with the ball for her side in the tournament. Hong Kong
Led by skipper Storm Parker, they ended at the bottom of the table and were the only side to not register a win in three games in Group A. Led by skipper Sangay Yangzom, they were placed in Group B, finishing 2nd on the points table with 4 points from 3 games, including a couple of victories and a solitary defeat against Thailand by 4 wickets in their campaign in the league stages. They also suffered a heavy 73-run defeat in the 1st semi-final against the UAE. They were also outplayed by Thailand by 9 wickets in the 3rd semi-final, struggling to replicate their success from the league stages of the tournament. Jigme Tshomo ended as the leading wicket-taker for her side in the tournament with 6 wickets at an average of 10.50 and an economy of 4.11 in five innings with the ball for her side in the tournament. Myanmar
Led by skipper Aye Myat Noe, placed in Group B, finished 3rd on the points table with 2 points from 3 games, including a couple of defeats and a solitary victory in their campaign against Kuwait in the league stages of the tournament. They also went on to defeat Hong Kong by 5 wickets in the 2nd place playoff and Qatar by 7 wickets in the 5th place playoff. Skipper Aye Myat Noe ended as the leading run-scorer for her side with 79 runs at a strike rate of 58.52 and an average of 15.80 in five innings and five matches with the bat for her side in the tournament. Kuwait
Led by skipper Candice Jerica, were placed in Group B, where they ended at the bottom of the table as they were the only side to not register a victory in the group in the league stages. Sahasra Nadimpalli ended as the joint-highest leading wicket-taker for her side with 5 wickets at an average of 18.60 and an economy of 5.17 in five innings and five matches with the ball for her side in the tournament alongside Swatiba Kuldeepsinh.
