Fresh off a clean sweep against Zimbabwe, led by Nomvelo Sibanda, from February 25 to March 11, the White Ferns, under skipper Amelia Kerr, kicked off this home showdown with South Africa (captained by Laura Wolvaardt) on March 15. Amelia Kerr’s blistering 78 earned Player of the Match honours, but it was a collective Kiwi effort that propelled multiple players up the charts. South Africa fought back to level the series 1-1 with an 18-run win in the second T20I, setting the stage for a gripping battle through April 4, blending T20Is and ODIs.

Batting Rankings:

Hard-hitting opener Georgia Plimmer stole the spotlight among batters, rocketing nine places to 41st after her match-defining 63 in the series opener. She was dismissed early (1 off 2 balls) in the 2nd T20I. Her aggressive strokeplay not only set a solid platform but underscored New Zealand’s depth at the top, turning heads in a format where momentum shifts fast. Plimmer’s rise highlights the White Ferns’ batting resurgence, blending youth and firepower.

Bowling Rankings:

Jess Kerr marked a personal milestone, climbing 11 spots to 23rd (604 points) and securing a career-high rating on the T20I bowlers’ list. She returned with impressive match figures (4-1-13-2) in her spell in the 1st T20I, following that up with (4-0-34-2) in her spell in the 2nd T20I, accounting for four wickets in a couple of innings so far.

Her incisive spells complemented the team’s dominance, restricting South Africa, proving why New Zealand’s attack remains a nightmare for opponents on home soil.

South Africa’s Nadine de Klerk has picked up 3 wickets in a couple of innings with the ball for her side so far in the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand. As a result, she has climbed up a couple of spots to equal the 39th position (511 points) alongside Ireland’s Orla Prendergast, who has also climbed up one spot. The former White Ferns skipper Sophie Devine returned with her career-best match figures (4-0-12-4) in her spell in the 1st T20I. As a result, she has earned a massive rise as she has climbed up 25 spots to equal the 79th position (391 points) alongside Australia’s Kim Garth.

All-rounder Rankings:

The standout story belongs to evergreen veteran Sophie Devine, who vaulted six places to 11th among T20I all-rounders with a career-best bowling haul of 4-0-12-4 against the Proteas, her finest T20I figures for New Zealand. Devine’s timely explosion with the ball, paired with her batting nous, cements her legacy as a game-changer in the format, inspiring a squad eyeing to defend their T20 World Cup title in England and Wales from 12th June to 5th July 2026.

Another White Ferns veteran, Suzie Bates, has climbed up three spots to the 30th position (123 points). Jess Kerr has also climbed up five spots to equal the 32nd position (120 points) alongside Ireland’s Laura Delany.

These shifts reflect New Zealand’s white-ball prowess amid a packed home summer, with the South Africa series poised to spark further drama in the coming weeks.
