In the recently concluded 2025-26 season of the Women’s Super Smash, a total of six teams, namely Central Hinds, Canterbury Magicians, Northern Brave, Auckland Hearts, Wellington Blaze, and Otago Sparks had participated.
Defining champions, The Blaze outplayed Auckland Hearts in the final to clinch their 10th title, completing a second threepeat, under the captaincy of Jess Kerr. It was an exciting tournament with nail-biting games and low-scoring thrillers to keep the viewers glued to their seats.

Canterbury Magicians
The Magicians, led by Lea Tahuhu, had a terrible campaign this time out, with just 1 win against Otago Sparks from the 10 matches that they had played. As a result, they finished at the bottom of the table with just 6 points and a net run rate of -1.820.
Izzy Sharp was the leading run-scorer for the side and she was the 5th highest run scorer in the tournament with 245 runs from 10 innings at a strike rate of 128 and an average of 30. Her best batting performance came against the Sparks where she scored a brilliant unbeaten 65, helping her side to set a total of 145 on board, even though they ended up on the losing side. Melissa Banks was their best bowler of the season with 14 wickets from 10 innings at an economy of 8 and she was the 5th highest wicket taker in the tournament. She produced her best bowling figures against the Sparks, as she picked up 3 wickets for just 32 runs.
Otago Sparks
The Sparks, led by Polly Inglis, had a decent campaign this season with 4 wins from their 10 matches, with one of the games being washed out. They finished in 5th place with 22 points in hand and a net run rate of 0.247.
Polly Inglis was the leading run-scorer for her side and she was the 14th highest run scorer in the tournament with 184 runs from 9 innings at a strike rate of 132 and an average of 26. Her best batting performance came against Central Hinds where she scored a blistering 41 off just 22 balls to guide her side to victory by 2 wickets. Emma Black was their leading wicket-taker with 13 wickets from 10 innings at an economy of 7. She finished as the 6th highest wicket-taker in the tournament, and she produced her best bowling figures against Wellington Blaze where she picked up 3 wickets for just 31 runs.
Central Hinds
Central Hinds, led by Hannah Rowe, had an average campaign this season with 5 wins from their 10 matches, with a match being washed out. They finished in 4th place with 25 points and a net run rate of -0.281.
England’s Bryony Smith was the leading run scorer for the Hinds and the 10th highest run scorer in the tournament with 207 runs from 9 innings at a strike rate of 132. She batted brilliantly against Wellington Blaze, scoring her season best, 56 off 36 balls, helping her side to set a total of 155 on board and her side won by 5 runs. English all-rounder Grace Scrivens was their leading wicket-taker with 12 wickets from 5 innings at an economy of 6. She finished as the 7th highest wicket-taker and produced her best bowling figures against Auckland Hearts, where she picked up a 4-fer.
Auckland Hearts
The Hearts, led by Maddy Green had finished an excellent campaign as were the runners-up and they had 5 wins from 10 matches, including an abandoned match in the group stage. They finished in 3rd place in the league phase with 25 points and a net run rate of 0.316.
Brooke Halliday finished as the highest run scorer for Auckland Hearts and in the entire tournament with 306 runs from 11 innings at a strike rate of 113. Her best performance came against Canterbury Magicians, where she scored 62 off 47 balls, and they got to a total of 171 and after a brilliant spell of bowling, the Hearts won by 80 runs. Molly Penfold was the highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 17 wickets from 11 innings at an economy of 6. She produced her best bowling figures against Otago Sparks, as she picked up 3 wickets and gave away just 15 runs.
Northern Brave
The Brave, led by Jess Watkin, had a successful campaign as they won 5 out of their 10 games, with two matches being abandoned. They had lost in the eliminator against Auckland Hearts and they finished in 2nd place in the league phase with 28 points and a net run rate of 0.702.
Nensi Patel finished as the highest run scorer for her side, and she was ranked at the 12th place in the tournament, with 203 runs from 9 innings at a strike rate of 98. Her best score came against Canterbury Magicians, where she scored 57 off 43 balls, helping her side cross the 150-run mark and securing a crucial victory. Marama Downes picked up 16 wickets from 10 innings at an economy of 5. She had her best bowling figures against Canterbury Magicians, where she picked up 4 wickets and gave away just 11 runs.
Wellington Blaze
The Blaze had a title-winning performance in the campaign as they won 7 out of their 10 matches with one game being abandoned. They had won the final against Auckland Hearts, and they finished at the top of the table with 33 points and a net run rate of 0.891.
Georgia Plimmer finished as the leading run-scorer for her side and she was the 4th highest-run scorer in the tournament. She had her best performance against Auckland Hearts in the opening fixture, with 62 off just 53 balls and provided support to Amelia Kerr at the other end who scored a sensational ton. Xara Jetly finished as the joint-second highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 16 wickets from 11 innings at an economy of 5. She had her best bowling figures against the Auckland Hearts, where she picked up 3 wickets and gave away just 21 runs.
