Get ready for an explosive three-match T20 showdown as New Zealand’s top domestic women’s stars clash in New Zealand Cricket’s (NZCs) annual North vs South Series, pitting the North Island against the South Island in pure island-of-origin style.

From December 18 to 20, 2025, Nelson’s Saxton Oval transforms into the epicenter of this free-admission cricket fiesta, earlier in the season than the usual end-of-season slot, injecting fresh fire into the calendar.
This isn’t just cricket; it’s a launchpad for White Ferns hopefuls, showcasing elite talent hungry for international glory amid a storied rivalry that debuted in the 1998/99 season (with men’s T20s) and has roared back with seven women’s editions, North holding the edge.
Nelson’s hosting marks a proud milestone for the region’s unwavering commitment to women’s and girls’ cricket growth, backed by world-class facilities and a buzzing local community.
Nelson Cricket General Manager Jake Inwood calls it an “exciting opportunity” during school holidays, complete with player meet-and-greets and activations featuring some of the country’s finest domestic stars, including White Ferns.
