UAE announce Squad for GCC Women’s T20I Championship 2025; Esha Oza to Lead

Esha Oza, the talented all-rounder, will lead United Arab Emirates (UAE) women’s cricket team at the upcoming GCC Women’s T20I Championship 2025. This exciting tournament, featuring six competitive teams from the Gulf region, is set to take place in Oman from December 12th to 19th.

The UAE side will kick off their campaign against the host nation Oman on Friday, December 12th, with the match scheduled for 2:00 pm local time. Following this, they face Qatar the very next day, December 13th, starting at 9:30 am. After a brief break, the team will return to the field on Monday, December 15th, to meet Kuwait in an evening fixture beginning at 6:30 pm.

The tournament continues with UAE taking on Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, December 16th, from 2:00 pm, before wrapping up their group stage matches against Bahrain on Thursday, December 18th, also at 2:00 pm. The top two teams at the end of these group matches will advance to the final showdown, scheduled for Friday, December 19th, with a 6:30 pm start.

Under Esha Oza’s leadership, the UAE team will look to showcase their skill, teamwork, and determination across this tightly contested tournament. With a challenging schedule ahead, the squad’s depth and experience will be critical as they aim to claim the championship title on Omani soil.

The UAE Women’s team showcased a very strong performance in the ICC Women Emerging Nations Trophy, 2025, which was a highly competitive event. The final standings table saw UAE Women finish in the second place out of eight teams, accumulating 10 points from seven matches played. They achieved five wins and suffered only two losses, putting them level on points with the top three teams: Thailand, Netherlands, and Scotland.

Their position was secured due to a strong Net Run Rate of 1.278. Their recent form leading up to the end of the tournament was excellent, as they won four consecutive matches. These victories included wins against Namibia (by 28 runs), Thailand (by 7 runs), Tanzania (by 7 wickets), and Uganda (by 10 wickets). Their only recent loss was against Scotland, where they were defeated by 10 wickets. Overall, the campaign was a display of dominance, characterized by impressive wins both batting first and chasing targets
