We witnessed a thrilling, action-packed cricket, on the final day of the ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy 2025 on 30th November 2025 (Sunday). Uganda were up against the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) were up against Namibia, Scotland were facing Thailand, and Papua New Guinea were locking horns against Tanzania on the final day of the inaugural tournament in Bangkok.

Match 25: Uganda Vs Netherlands
The Netherlands, led by skipper Babette de Leede, restricted Uganda to 111/6 in their quota of 20 overs, after she won the toss and opted to field first. The 37-run partnership for the 5th wicket, between Prosscovia Alako (34 off 29 balls) and Stephani Nampiina (21 off 33 balls), was the highest partnership of the innings for Uganda.
The Janet Mbabazi-led side eventually ended up with a respectable total. Silver Siegers (4-0-12-2) was exceptional with the ball for the Netherlands. Isabel van der Woning (3-0-14-1), Robine Rijke (1-0-2-1), Iris Zwilling (4-0-20-0), and Isabel van der Woning (3-0-14-1) played their part with the ball for the Netherlands.
Chasing a target of 112, the Netherlands got over the line with 6 wickets in hand, 31 balls to spare. The Dutch had early jitters in the run chase, losing both their openers inside the power play. Sterre Kalis joined skipper Babette de Leede, a 39-run 3rd wicket partnership, followed by another 45-run partnership for the 4th wicket between Robine Rijke (36* off 31 balls) and Sterre Kalis (32 off 32 balls) took the Netherlands into the driver’s seat. Robine Rijke (36* off 31 balls) held her nerve to guide her side over the line.
Kevin Amuge (3-0-13-2) and Sarah Akiteng (4-0-18-1) were impressive with the ball for Uganda. Robine Rijke was awarded the Player of the Match for her sensational all-round impact. She picked up a wicket in her one-over spell (1-0-2-1) with the ball and scored an unbeaten (36* off 31 balls) with the bat.
Match 26: United Arab Emirates Vs Namibia
The UAE openers’ wicket-keeper batter Theertha Satish (57* off 52 balls) and skipper Esha Oza (68 off 49 balls) struck twin half-centuries, after the UAE skipper won the toss and opted to bat first. The Namibian bowlers pushed things back after a mammoth 114-run opening partnership, restricting the UAE to 153/3 in their quota of 20 overs. Naomi Benjamin (2-0-11-1) and Mekelaye Mwatile (1-0-2-1) were the only wicket-takers with the ball for Namibia.
Chasing a stiff total of 154, the Namibian top-order collapsed, while skipper Sune Wittmann (23 off 33 balls) held fort from one end. The lower-order, consisting of the likes of Wilka Mwatile (54* off 34 balls) and Naomi Benjamin (16* off 11 balls), showed remarkable character and resilience. However, it wasn’t enough as Namibia were restricted to 125/7 in their quota of 20 overs, falling 28 runs short of the target. Vaishnave Mahesh (4-0-13-2), skipper Esha Oza (4-0-36-2), Michelle Botha (4-0-19-1), and Heena Hotchandani (4-0-20-0) were sensational with the ball for the UAE.
Skipper Esha Oza was awarded the Player of the Match, delivering a leader’s performance with the bat as well as with the ball, playing a pivotal role in the UAE’s dominant win.
Match 27: Thailand Vs Scotland
It was a low-scoring humdinger, edge-of-the-seat contest between two of the most promising sides going around. Scotland skipper Sarah Bryce won the toss and opted to bat first. Thailand’s left-arm spinner Thipatcha Putthawong ran through the Scottish batting line-up, returning with a sensational match-defining spell (4-0-17-4) with the ball for her side. She was well supported by Suleeporn Laomi (4-1-11-3), Sunida Chaturongrattana (2-1-7-1), and Onnicha Kamchomphu (3.1-0-5-1). As a result, Scotland were bundled out for 63 with 29 balls to spare.
The Scotland unit kept the belief in themselves and had a spring in their steps. Off-spinner Olivia Bell (4-1-8-5) led the charge with the ball, bagging a five-wicket haul. The Thailand batters were made to toil hard for each run, before skipper Naruemol Chaiwai (17* off 21 balls) held her nerve to guide her side over the line with 3 wickets in hand and 50 balls to spare. Thipatcha Putthawong was awarded the Player of the Match for her outstanding spell with the ball for her side.
With that win, Thailand topped the table with 10 points from 7 games, including 5 victories and a couple of defeats. As a result, they were crowned as the champions of the Inaugural edition of the ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy.
Match 28: Papua New Guinea Vs Tanzania
Papua New Guinea managed just 100 runs on the board, getting bundled out in their quota of 20 overs, after skipper Brenda Tau won the toss and opted to bat first. Henao Thomas (47 off 57 balls) top-scored with the bat for Papua New Guinea. Pauke Siaka (24 off 25 balls) and Hollan Doriga (11 off 6 balls) were the only other batters to enter the double digits with the bat for their side.
Saum Borakambi (4-0-17-2), Pierce Kamunya (4-0-25-2), Sophia Jerome (4-0-20-1), and Sheila Kizito (3-0-8-1) were outstanding with the ball for Tanzania.
Defending a total of 101, the Papua New Guinea bowlers, Pauke Siaka (4-0-10-3), Isabel Toua (4-0-12-2), Henao Thomas (4-1-15-2) kept landing the punches with regular strikes. As a result, Tanzania were eventually restricted to 80/8 in their quota of 20 overs, falling 20 runs short of the target. Pierce Kamunya (27 off 29 balls), Fatuma Kibasu (15 off 19 balls), and the wicket-keeper batter Saumu Hussein (11 off 28 balls) were the lone warriors with the bat for Tanzania.
