She got to the landmark with another handy cameo (21 off 15 balls), opening the innings for the Hobart Hurricanes, alongside the wicket-keeper batter Lizelle Lee, providing another quick start to the innings. Her knock included a couple of boundaries and a maximum in a curtailed run chase of 106 in 13 overs. The Hobart Hurricanes sealed the game with 6 wickets to extend their winning streak to 5 games, which also extended their lead at the top of the table with 10 points, being the only unbeaten team in the tournament.

Her decade-long presence in the Australian league has been marked by flair, adaptability, and a relentless appetite for runs across three different franchises: Melbourne Renegades, Brisbane Heat, and her current side, Hobart Hurricanes. At 34, Wyatt-Hodge continues to set benchmarks as one of the most impactful overseas batters the competition has seen.

Wyatt-Hodge’s WBBL story began on 11 December 2015, when she debuted for Melbourne Renegades against Hobart Hurricanes at Launceston. Over five seasons with the franchise, she carved her reputation as a reliable run-machine at the top, scoring 1,345 runs at a strike rate of 113.79 and an average of 28.02 in 55 innings. She registered seven half-centuries for the Renegades, often anchoring innings while delivering quick-fire starts in powerplay overs.

Her standout performance in red came on 27 November 2019 against the Brisbane Heat at the Allan Border Field, Brisbane, a day when her all-round brilliance shone through. Chasing 184, Wyatt-Hodge played with characteristic fluency, smashing 87 off 55 balls with 11 boundaries and two sixes to set up a six-wicket win for the Renegades. That match-winning effort earned her the Player of the Match award, one that captured her dual strengths as a big-match performer and as someone who thrives under scoreboard pressure.

Wyatt-Hodge joined the Brisbane Heat in 2022, adding fresh energy to their aggressive brand of cricket. Making her debut for the franchise on 21 October 2022 against her former side, the Melbourne Renegades, in Adelaide, she quickly found rhythm in blue and teal. Over that season, she accumulated 263 runs from 13 innings at a strike rate of 128.92 and an average of 20.23, including two fifties.

Her most memorable outing in Heat colours came on 20 November 2022, against Melbourne Stars at Ted Summerton Reserve in Moe, where she blasted 52 off just 24 balls. Her innings, decorated with seven fours and two sixes, embodied her power-hitting prowess and intent to dominate the new ball. Although rain washed away any result that day, Wyatt-Hodge’s innings echoed her ability to seize momentum early, something that would later serve her well at Hobart.

The next step in her WBBL journey arrived with the Hobart Hurricanes in 2024. Making her debut for the side on 28 October 2024 against the Sydney Thunder at Hobart, she immediately bolstered the Hurricanes’ top order with her international experience and aggressive batting. Since then, she has scored 397 runs at a lively strike rate of 145.42 and an average of 36.09 across 12 innings, including three half-centuries.

Her best performance in purple came just earlier this month, on 9 November 2025, in the 11th edition of the WBBL against the Sydney Thunder at Brisbane. In a commanding run chase of 182, Wyatt-Hodge unleashed a match-defining 90 off 52 deliveries, laced with nine boundaries and three sixes. Her authoritative strokeplay guided Hobart to a six-wicket triumph with three balls remaining, earning her yet another Player of the Match accolade. The innings exemplified why Wyatt-Hodge remains a match-winner even a decade into the league’s evolution.

At present, she leads the Hurricanes’ run charts and sits 2nd overall in the tournament with 272 runs at a strike rate of 154.54 and an average of 68 in five. Her consistency and explosive starts have been central to Hobart’s campaign in the ongoing season.

Overall, she has scored 2,005 runs at a strike rate of 120.85 and an average of 27.84 in 80 innings, including 12 half-centuries in 80 matches in the tournament so far.

As she surpasses the 2,000-run milestone, Danielle Wyatt-Hodge’s WBBL journey stands as a testament to longevity, adaptability, and commitment to redefining the role of an overseas batter in Australian conditions. From her early days powering the Renegades, to her fearless cameos for Brisbane Heat, and now her seasoned leadership in the batting department at Hobart, every chapter of her league career has carried its own rhythm and significance.

As she bags another personal landmark, Wyatt-Hodge is a reminder that experience, when blended with passion and precision, continues to produce magic on the WBBL stage.
