The ceremony is scheduled for November 23, 2025, and preparations are already underway, marking a joyous culmination to Mandhana’s year of remarkable milestones.

Smriti Mandhana, the 29-year-old left-handed opener, has enjoyed a career-defining year, setting new international benchmarks in women’s ODI cricket. She became the first player ever to surpass 1,000 runs in a calendar year, amassing 1,362 runs at a striking rate of 109.92 and an impressive average of 61.90 across 23 innings.

With 5 centuries and 5 half-centuries, Mandhana emerged as India’s leading run-scorer and the second-highest overall scorer in the recent World Cup, played across India and Sri Lanka. Her composed aggression and consistency at the crease were pivotal in India clinching their maiden Women’s ODI World Cup title at the DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai, under the stewardship of skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and head coach Amol Muzumdar.

Mandhana’s relationship with Palash Muchhal, a noted composer, singer, and filmmaker, has been the subject of intrigue since 2019. Despite keeping their romance private, the couple made things official via Instagram in July 2024, sending fans into a frenzy. Muchhal’s creative versatility provides a refreshing dynamic; his music and cinematic storytelling blend sensitivity and vibrant composition, complementing Mandhana’s sporting discipline.

In a charming prelude to their wedding, Mandhana was recently seen on Instagram, celebrating with teammates like Jemimah Rodrigues, Radha Yadav, Shreyanka Patil, and Arundhati Reddy. A lively dance video featuring the song “Samjho Ho Hi Gaya” from Lage Raho Munna Bhai set social media abuzz as Mandhana flaunted her engagement ring. Netizens were quick to dub “Ladkiwale” the winners of the sangeet, with fans calling the celebrations the “best thing on the internet.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s congratulatory note not only extended best wishes but also poetically revealed the wedding date. “It is delightful to hear the wedding of Sou. Smriti and Chi. Palash is to be held on November 23, 2025. Heartiest congratulations and greetings to the Mandhana and Muchhal (families). Walking hand in hand in every season of life, may the couple find in each other’s presence and their hearts, minds and souls be in harmony. May their dreams intertwine, grow together, guiding them towards a future filled with joy and understanding,” Modi Ji wrote.

He continued, weaving cricket and music into his blessings, “As the pair starts a new life together, the grace of Smriti’s cover drive meets the musical symphony of Palash in a wonderful partnership.” Modi even humorously alluded to a “celebratory cricket match between Team Groom and Team Bride,” wishing for victories both at the wedding event and in life’s journey.

While neither Smriti nor Palash has publicly commented on the official date, the confirmation from PM Modi has turned their upcoming nuptials into a national event, one that has united fans in celebration.
