At 22 years old, Knott has gained valuable experience touring with Australia’s T20I and ODI squads, though she has not yet played a match. The upcoming WBBL 11 season presents a vital opportunity for her to cement her credentials and push hard for a place in the senior national side.

Knott has demonstrated considerable leadership potential, having captained the Australia A teams in recent home series against India A in both four day and T20 formats.

Known for her elegant batting and skillful off spin bowling, she has been identified as a long-term prospect for Australia. Ahead of the last World Cup campaign, she was recognized as a potential rising star and continues to be a strong candidate for the next T20 World Cup in England.

Her recent tours to New Zealand and India boosted confidence and provided invaluable experience on varied pitches and different conditions. Being part of those squads helped her grow technically and mentally, preparing her for the demands of international cricket.

Knott said, “It was a confidence booster, I had never been to India before so it was good to be around the team, train on Indian wickets and learn from those players. Indian pitches are different so hopefully if I get to play there I will benefit from the exposure.”

Brisbane Heat captain Jess Jonassen has expressed strong confidence in Knott’s future, noting her calmness, skill development, and leadership promise. Jonassen highlighted Knott’s work ethic and clear understanding of how she wants to play, predicting her rapid rise among Australia’s elite.

Jess Jonaseen praised Knott, by saying “I firmly believe in Charli. She is someone that has been touted as a leader and quality player from a very young age, I like the way that she has taken her all round game to a new level and been exposed to those leadership opportunities as well.”

The Heat captain also mentioned the depth of young talent in cricket, with players like Sianna Ginger and Lucy Hamilton following similar paths.

Knott and Jonassen will both play in the opening WBBL 11 match against defending champions Melbourne Renegades at Allan Border Field on November 9. Following narrow final losses in recent seasons, the team and Knott are motivated to go all the way this year and seize their chance at glory.

The coming season is an important milestone for Charli Knott to display her readiness for international cricket and demonstrate the all-round skills that have marked her out as a future star in the Australian setup.
