The Adelaide Strikers have confirmed their final squad for the upcoming Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL|11) season, announcing the signings of Tabatha Saville, Ellie Johnston, Eleanor Larosa and Ella Wilson. The final additions complete a strong 15 player line up that combines international experience, promising youth, and a balanced core of all-rounders as the Strikers prepare to defend their position among the competition’s elite.

The return of Fijian-born batter Tabatha Saville marks one of the most exciting narratives of this off season. After nearly seven years away from the Strikers’ setup, Saville rejoins the side with a renewed sense of purpose. She first represented the Strikers from 2016-17 to 2018-19, making her WBBL debut on January 2, 2017, against the Sydney Sixers.
In that match, she instantly made her mark by taking a sharp catch to dismiss the dangerous Ellyse Perry. Saville later featured for the Hobart Hurricanes in 2023-24 after taking a four-year break from the sport, stepping away after the 2018-19 season. Her return last summer with Tasmania and the Hurricanes showcased her determination to reignite her career, earning her another opportunity with the Adelaide side she once called home.
Saville’s journey back to elite cricket also highlights her strong roots in Australian cricket. After impressing in the Under 18 National Championships, she earned selection in Cricket Australia’s Talent Squad, which opened the pathway to her first WBBL contract. Now, at 27, she returns as a more mature and experienced batter, ready to contribute depth and stability to the Strikers middle order.
The Strikers have also secured contract extensions for three key young talents Ellie Johnston, Eleanor Larosa, and Ella Wilson. Johnston had previously spent three seasons with the Brisbane Heat before joining the Strikers. Known for her aggressive intent at the top of the order, Johnston impressed with a 36 off just 20 deliveries against the Melbourne Stars in the Spring Challenge, showcasing her clean ball striking and attacking instincts.
Nineteen years old Eleanor Larosa has earned a two-year contract after consistent all-round performances throughout the domestic circuit. The left-handed batter and bowler offer great balance to the side, chipping in with crucial contributions during the Spring Challenge. Meanwhile, fellow all-rounder Ella Wilson also signs on for another season. A teammate of Larosa at the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup in 2023, Wilson continues to build promise, having claimed three wickets and scored a vital 28 in the recent Spring Challenge.
