The Sri Lanka Under-19 Women’s squad has been officially announced for the upcoming five-match T20 series against the Malaysian Women’s National Team, scheduled from 2nd to 10th November 2025 at NCC Ground and Colts Ground in Colombo. This selection reflects the positive momentum of Sri Lanka’s U-19 girls, who recently showcased a dominant display against Australia U-19 Women earlier this year.

The squad led by all-rounder Manudi Nanayakkara features a blend of proven performers and promising new talents. Key players include Sanjana Kavindi, Vimoksha Balasooriya, Hiruni Hansika, Nethangi Isuranjali, and Rashmi Nethranjali, among others. This unit is expected to capitalize on their international exposure and set the stage for future global competitions.
Notably, many of these players have already made significant contributions at the school and district levels, as highlighted in their journeys through colleges like Princess of Wales, Devapathiraja, Anura, and Mahamaya Girls School.
Sri Lanka’s Under-19 team delivered a series of commanding performances against the visiting Australia U-19 squad. In the five-match T20 series played in September, Sri Lanka clinched comprehensive victories, sweeping them 5-0 and also beating them in the One-off Youth ODI by 180 runs.
Top performers included Sanjana Kavindi, who won Player of the Match twice for her batting and all-around prowess. Rashmi Nethranjali was also a standout, earning Player of the Match awards for her displays with both bat and ball twice in the series. The squad showed its depth and tenacity with effective leadership from Nanayakkara and consistent support from Pramudi Methsara, Sashini Gimhani, and Chamudhi Prabodha.
Their dominant form included restricting Australian batters with disciplined bowling and aggressive fielding, while several Sri Lankan batters consolidated their reputation as match-winners under pressure. The convincing series win over Australia has forged a confident and well-gelled unit ready for the upcoming Malaysia challenge.
The Malaysia tour offers another chance for Sri Lanka’s rising stars to further assert themselves, with T20 fixtures lined up for 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 10th of November in Colombo. The selectors have entrusted the same core squad that dominated Australia, banking on continuity and team chemistry for continued success on home soil.
This squad announcement not only reflects the growing strength of Sri Lanka’s U-19 women’s cricket but also underscores their readiness after a stellar run against Australia to begin their campaign against Malaysia.
