Diana’s love for sport began with street cricket and football. Her natural athleticism wasn’t confined to just those two, she also threw javelin and shot put at regional levels before dedicating herself to team sports.
By 2010, Diana was already leading the newly formed Gilgit-Baltistan women’s cricket team, a testament to her leadership qualities at a young age. Two years later, she earned selection to Pakistan’s A side and was included as a reserve player for the 2013 Women’s Cricket World Cup. Alongside cricket, her passion for football also flourished, and she went on to represent Pakistan at the 2014 SAFF Championships in Bahrain, a feat that placed her in the unique company of double-internationals.
Diana made her international cricket debut in 2015, playing her first ODIs against Bangladesh and T20Is against the West Indies. Her bowling style, right-arm medium-fast, marked by disciplined lines and late movement, quickly made her an asset to Pakistan’s attack. One of her most memorable performances came during the 2017 Women’s World Cup clash against India, where she dismissed the dangerous Smriti Mandhana with a sharp inswinger.
Since then, Diana has grown into a reliable figure in Pakistan’s white-ball cricket. In 63 ODIs, she has claimed 56 wickets, with best figures of 4/30, while also contributing 286 runs with the bat across 48 innings.
