Indonesia’s bowler Rohmalia Rohmalia Officially Enters Guinness Book with Rare 7-Wicket Bowling Spell

Indonesia’s young cricket sensation, Rohmalia Rohmalia, has officially entered the Guinness book for her extraordinary achievement in T20 International cricket. Born on June 7, 2006, this 19-year-old right-hand batter and right-arm off break bowler created history on April 24, 2024.

In the T20 International match played on 24 April 2024 between Indonesia and Magnolia women’s cricket team, Indonesia scored 151 runs and bowled Mongolia out for just 24, completing a convincing series win with a 6-0 score line.

Rohmalia bowled 20 consecutive dot balls and took seven wickets without conceding a single run, dismissing seven Mongolian batters. Her figures of 7 wickets for 0 runs set the record for the best bowling figures in an innings on debut in all T20 Internationals, both men’s and women’s cricket.

Rohmalia is only the third woman to take seven wickets in a T20I innings, joining Argentina’s Alison Stocks and the Netherlands’ Frederique Overdijk, who both recorded 7 for 3.

The best bowling figures in men’s T20Is is held by Malaysia’s Syazrul Ezat Idrus, who took 7 for 8 against China last year.

On September 24, 2025, Rohmalia shared her joy on Instagram that on 18 September 2025, Jakarta she received her Guinness World Record award. She thanked her family, teammates, coaches, and supporters for their faith and support.

She said, “For those of you who are pursuing a dream, hopefully this achievement can be an example that you are also capable as long as there is prayer, discipline, hard work and consistency. Nothing is impossible in this world. Let’s continue to rise together, this is not the end of everything.”
