Name – Amanjot Kaur
Date of Birth – 25 August 2000
Batting Style – Right-handed
Bowling Style – Right-arm medium
Role – All-rounder

Amanjot Kaur’s sporting journey began far from cricket grounds. The daughter of a woodwork contractor, she grew up immersed in games like hockey, football and handball before eventually settling on cricket as her true pursuit. At 15, she enrolled at the academy of coach Nagesh Gupta, who quickly identified her as someone with the discipline and raw ability to succeed at a higher level, even though her father initially believed her sporting phase would soon pass.
What started with bowling soon expanded when Gupta noticed the fluency in her batting during practice sessions. From there, she evolved into an all-rounder and earned her first break in domestic cricket with Punjab in the 2017-18 season. In search of consistent opportunities, she represented Chandigarh during the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons, before rejoining Punjab in 2022-23. Her progress brought her into the Women’s Premier League, where she has represented the Mumbai Indians since 2023.
Amanjot Kaur’s International Career
Amanjot announced herself on the international stage in January 2023, making her T20I debut against South Africa. Walking in during a crisis, she showcased nerves of steel with a counterattacking 41*—an innings that not only sealed the game but also won her the Player of the Match award on debut. The innings became symbolic of her approach: bold, composed, and unafraid of responsibility.
Her ODI debut followed in July 2023 against Bangladesh, where she contributed with both bat and ball, taking 4/31 with the ball and scoring 15 runs, proving her versatility.
By July, Amanjot had featured in 9 ODIs, scoring 98 runs while also chipping in with 13 wickets. Though her numbers are modest compared to top-order batters, her contributions have repeatedly come in high-pressure situations, making her one of India’s most trusted game-changers in crunch moments.
The 2025 Women’s World Cup will be her maiden appearance at the global stage. For a cricketer who thrives in pressure, the tournament offers the perfect platform to elevate her stature and etch her name among India’s match-winners.
