Match 13: Zimbabwe HP XI Women vs Brazil Women

Put into bat first, Zimbabwe posted a competitive total of 151/5 on the board. Opener Chiedza Dhururu anchored the innings with a composed half-century of 55 off 59, while Christabel Chatonzwa provided early momentum with a brisk 37 off just 26. Later, Loreen Tshuma added valuable runs in the middle order, striking a fluent 46 off 32. Passionate Munorwei, however, fell cheaply for just a single run. Brazil’s Lindsay Boas bowled with precision, claiming 2 wickets for 28 runs and keeping Zimbabwe from going beyond reach.

In reply, Brazil struggled to find rhythm in their chase. Opener Lindsay Boas top-scored with 29 off 35, and skipper Laura Cardoso managed 21 off 32, but the rest of the lineup faltered. Evelyn Muller was dismissed for a duck, and while Maria Silva 21* off 23 and Roberta Avery 13* off 29 tried to revive the innings, they couldn’t convert their starts into a substantial partnership. Brazil were ultimately restricted to 89 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Lindokuhle Mabhero starred with the ball, delivering an economical spell of 2 wickets for just 7 runs.

Match 14: Sierra Leone Women vs Uganda Women

Sierra Leone Women struggled from the outset, failing to build any momentum after being put into bat first. The innings unraveled quickly as their top four; Emma Kamara, captain Aminata Kamara, Celina Bull, and Jane Newland, were all dismissed for ducks. The entire lineup faltered, with no player reaching double digits. Hussainatu Sawanneh provided the only resistance, remaining unbeaten with 8* runs off 14. Sierra Leone were bowled out for a mere 32 runs in just 11.1 overs.

Uganda’s bowlers were relentless, with Kevin Amuge delivering an impressive spell of 5 wickets for just 19 runs. She was well supported by Sarah Akiteng, who returned remarkable figures of 3/0. In response, Uganda chased down the modest target with ease. Openers Esther Iloku 12* off 10 and captain Janet Mbabazi 19* off 19 stayed unbeaten, guiding their team to victory in just 4.5 overs without losing a wicket.

Match 15: Cameroon Women vs Malawi Women

Cameroon faced a rocky start after being put in to bat first, with their top order crumbling under early pressure. Openers Madeleine Sissako (3), Bernadette Mbida (2), and Brenda Waluma (3) were all dismissed cheaply, leaving the side in trouble. Captain Michelle Ekani tried to stabilize the innings with a patient 28 off 45, supported briefly by Marguerite Bessala, who added a brisk 23 off 15. However, the lower order failed to capitalize, resulting in a collapse that saw Cameroon bowled out for 72 runs in 19 overs.

Malawi’s bowlers executed their plans to perfection, with Christina Bwanali and Eva Kabwere both claiming 2 wickets for just 7 runs each, while Lidia Dimba impressed with 2/14. In response, Malawi also endured early shortfalls. Opener Sophina Chinawa was dismissed for 6, while skipper Euless Chiralile managed just 1. However, Lidia Dimba anchored the innings, scoring a steady 25 off 21 before Sugeni Kananji sealed the chase with an unbeaten 23* off 27 deliveries. Malawi reached the target in 13 overs, registering their first win of the tournament.

Match 16: Rwanda Women vs Nigeria Women

Opting to bat first, Rwanda suffered an early blow as captain Marie Bimenyimana was dismissed for just 1 run. However, Merveille Uwase 21 off 14 and Clarisse Uwase 24 off 26 steadied the innings with a composed partnership. The momentum was carried forward by Alice Ikuzwe, who played a crucial unbeaten knock of 37* off just 23 to guide Rwanda to a respectable total of 114/7 in their 20 overs. Nigeria’s Annointed Akhigbe led the bowling attack with figures of 3/32, while the remaining wickets were shared among the bowling unit.

In response, Nigeria struggled to build any rhythm in their chase. The top order collapsed under pressure with captain Favour Eseigbe (2), Muhibat Amusa (8), Christabel Chukwuonye (0), and Sarah Etim (1) all falling for single-digit scores. Although Salome Sunday 19 off 29 and Esther Sandy 20 off 20 offered brief resistance, the lower order could not withstand Rwanda’s disciplined bowling attack. Nigeria was bowled out for just 74 in 17.3 overs. Henriette Ishimwe delivered a stellar spell, taking 3/10, while Alice Ikuzwe contributed with the ball as well, picking up 2/12.
