With both sides eager to demonstrate their strong base of talented cricketers, the series promises to deliver closely contested cricket. The Irish team will look to capitalise on home conditions, while Zimbabwe will be keen to make a mark on foreign soil.

The schedule for Zimbabwe’s tour of Ireland has been released, with the action set to get underway in the month of July. The series will kick off with T20 Internationals, played in continuous streak, at Pembroke on July 20, 22, and 23, all starting at 10:00 BST.

The focus will then shift to the ODI format, with the first One Day International slated for July 26 at Stormont, followed by the second and final ODI on July 28, both commencing at 11:00 BST. As of now, fixtures and start times remain subject to change.

Zimbabwe was last in T20I action in September 2024, participating in the Namibia Women’s T20I Tri-Series alongside hosts Namibia and the United Arab Emirates, with UAE eventually clinching the title.

In ODI cricket, Zimbabwe hosted USA Women for a closely fought five-match series, emerging victorious with a 3-2 win on home soil. Now, the Zimbabwean side is set for another test against the same opponents — this time away from home — in a bilateral series featuring three T20Is and two ODIs, kicking off on April 26.

Ireland is currently playing in the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifiers 2025, which is set to conclude on April 19, with their doors already closed and hopes dashed for a chance at qualifying for the showpiece event.

Prior to their current campaign in the ICC tournament, the team put on their national colours on the tour to India for a bilateral ODI series, losing by a margin of 3-0. In T20I cricket, they had a far more commendable accomplishment in their last series, against Bangladesh, winning the series by 3-0.

In the latest ICC rankings, Zimbabwe sits at the 14th spot in both the ODI and T20I standings, while Ireland holds the 10th position in both formats.
