With a high-octane year ahead for Indian women’s cricket—culminating in the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025—the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has rolled out a golden opportunity for professionals in the field of sports science and medicine.

Applications are now open for two crucial positions: Head Physiotherapist and Strength & Conditioning (S&C) Coach for Team India (Senior Women). These roles are more than just jobs—they are integral to the foundation of India’s high-performance vision for women’s cricket.
Both positions will be based at the cutting-edge BCCI Centre of Excellence (COE) in Bengaluru, a hub of elite training and innovation. However, these are not limited to desk duties; the selected professionals will travel with Team India (Senior Women) for matches and tournaments, ensuring the athletes are always in prime condition. The term of engagement is for 2 years, and both will report jointly to the Head of Sports Science & Medicine at COE and the Head Coach of Team India (Senior Women).
The BCCI’s latest move comes at a defining time. With the Women’s ODI World Cup inching closer, and a packed international calendar ahead—including a tri-series against Sri Lanka and South Africa later this month—the importance of fitness, injury prevention, and recovery cannot be overstated. As competition intensifies globally, the fitness of key players could be the make-or-break factor in India’s title pursuit.
The Head Physiotherapist will play a pivotal role in player welfare, managing match-day responsibilities and day-to-day injuries. This role demands hands-on expertise in injury diagnosis, evidence-based treatment, and rehabilitation strategies tailored to elite athletes. Responsibilities also include collaborating with other medical professionals, analyzing training workloads, and developing injury prevention protocols.
Candidates must hold a postgraduate qualification in Sports or Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy/Sports & Exercise Medicine/Sports Rehabilitation, with at least 10 years of experience and recent certification in Advanced Life Support & Trauma Management.
On the other side of the performance spectrum, the Strength & Conditioning Coach will lead the charge in designing personalized fitness regimens, conducting performance testing, and guiding athletes through warm-ups, recovery strategies, and injury prevention programs.
This role demands strategic foresight and an athlete-first approach. A background in S&C or Sports Physiology/Science is essential, along with at least 7 years of relevant experience and a Basic Life Support & Trauma Management certification secured within the last two years.
These roles are not just support functions—they are the heartbeat of the Sports Science & Medicine (SSM) team, helping bridge the gap between potential and performance. The ideal candidates will operate in a dynamic, interdisciplinary setup, directly influencing the trajectory of women’s cricket in India.
Eligible professionals with the required credentials are encouraged to apply by 5:00 PM on April 30, 2025. Once applications are screened and shortlisted, candidates may be invited for personal interviews as part of the selection process.
As the countdown to the Women’s World Cup begins, India is not just focusing on skill—but on strength, stamina, and science. This recruitment drive is not only about finding specialists but building the silent pillars who will support Team India’s pursuit of global dominance.
