None of the four participating teams has managed a victory in the ongoing edition of the Senior Women’s Multi-day Challenger Trophy 2025 so far, the competition continues to get intense as the tournament goes on. Minnu Mani’s Team A faced Team D led by skipper Sneh Rana in the 5th game of the tournament.

Minnu Mani and Sayali Satghare lead the charge as Team D fold for 201
Not the ideal start, skipper Sneh Rana would have hoped for after winning the toss and opting to bat first, losing both their openers Gongadi Trisha and wicket-keeper batter Nandini Kashyap inside the first seven overs of the innings. Dhara Gujjar joined Jincy George at the crease and the duo led some sort of a recovery with a crucial 26-run partnership for the 3rd wicket.
Tanuja Kanwer broke the stand, by sending Jincy George (13 off 28 balls) back to the pavilion in the 12th over of the innings providing the 3rd breakthrough for Team A. Dhara Gujjar (23 off 38 balls) soon followed her back to the pavilion leaving the Sneh Rana-led side reeling at 52/4 in the 18th over of the innings. Amanjot Kaur (26 off 29 balls) joined Raghvi Bisht at the crease and the pair showed a lot of promise en route to their brisk 41-run stand for the 5th wicket which also took them closer to the 100-run mark.
However, they weren’t able to convert their stand into a substantial one for their side, as Raghvi Bisht (26 off 42 balls) departed in the 26th over of the innings. Skipper Minnu Mani provided a vital 5th breakthrough for her side. Sanskriti Gupta partnered alongside skipper Sneh Rana and stitched a crucial 35-run partnership for the 7th wicket to take them past the 120-run mark. Priya Mishra accounted for the big scalp as she cleaned up the opposition skipper Sneh Rana (20 off 30 balls) in the 37th over of the innings.
Another critical 54-run partnership for the 9th wicket between Kashvee Gautam (37 off 31 balls) and Vaishnavi Sharma (25 off 32 balls) took them closer to the 200-run mark. The Sneh Rana-led side were eventually bundled out for 201 in the 51st over of the innings. Skipper Minnu Mani (15.3-3-41-4) once again led from the front with the ball for her side, alongside Sayali Satghare (10-2-42-3) being the other stand-out performer with the ball for their side. Priya Mishra (14-2-64-2), and Tanuja Kanwer (6-0-2-23-1) were impressive with the ball for their side.
Vaishnavi Sharma leads the charge with the ball for Team D
Team D bowlers bounced back as spinner Vaishnavi Sharma provided an early breakthrough by sending Shubha Satheesh back to the pavilion in the 2nd over of the innings. Henrietta Pereira partnered with Vrinda Dinesh and the pair tried to lead the recovery with a much-needed 28-run partnership for the 2nd wicket. Another crucial 26-run partnership between wicket-keeper batter Shipra Giri and Dinesh Vrinda took them past the 50-run mark. Yamuna Rana picked up the wicket of Shipra Giri to provide the 3rd breakthrough for her side in the 20th over of the innings.
Richa Ghosh joined Vrinda Dinesh at the crease and the pair mixed caution with aggression as they took the attack to the opposition en route to their massive 73-run stand for the 4th wicket, which also took them closer to the 150-run mark. The golden arm of Gongadi Trisha broke the ominous stand by sending a dangerous Richa Ghosh (38 off 61 balls) back to the pavilion in the 39th over of the innings, providing a morale-boosting 4th breakthrough for Team D towards the fag end of the 1st day’s play.
Priya Mishra joined opening batter Vrinda Dinesh at the crease and the pair weathered a tricky phase, ending the 1st day’s play at 138/4 in 41 overs, trailing Team D by 63 runs. Dinesh Vrinda completed a hard-earned half-century, staying unbeaten on 72* (110 balls) alongside Priya Mishra (0* off 9 balls). Vaishnavi Sharma was the pick of the bowlers as she claimed a couple of wickets and Trisha got the vital scalp of Richa Ghosh towards the end of the opening day’s play in Dehradun.
