Namibia Women’s National Cricket Team, termed as the Capricorn Eagles, is all geared up to host visitors Uganda for a limited-overs series this April.

This much-anticipated bilateral clash between the two respective nations will shape in the form of a series of T20 and One Day matches, offering a key platform for both sides to fine-tune their skills ahead of upcoming international competitions.
With Namibia aiming to take full advantage of the conducive home conditions, Uganda would be eager to leave a mark in a competitive brand of cricket. The upcoming series will not only showcase emerging talent from both cricketing countries but also strengthen the growing landscape of women’s cricket in Africa.
The Capricorn Eagles Series between Namibia and Uganda is set to take place from April 8 to April 17, featuring a total of six T20I matches along with a one-off 50-over game. All matches will be played at the renewed High-Performance Cricket Oval, a venue that promises top-tier facilities for high-quality international cricket.
The upcoming series offers both sides a vital chance to make subtle positive improvements in international rankings while gaining essential match experience as they strive for greater recognition on the global stage.
Uganda and Namibia share a tightly contested head-to-head record in T20Is, with both teams winning six matches each. Their rivalry remains evenly balanced, setting the balanced stage for the impending series. This much-awaited showdown comes after the teams’ last face-off in March 2025, where Uganda emerged victorious in the Women’s Day Cup Final on home soil.
In the Women’s Day Cup 2025, also known as the Women’s T20 Quadrangle Series, Uganda dominated on home soil and clinched the trophy in the final with an 8-wicket victory. Played at the Entebbe Cricket Oval in Uganda, the hosts won 4 out of their 6 matches, finishing with a positive net run rate of +1.102. While Namibia fell short of the title, they secured second place in the standings with 3 wins and 6 points in their tally.
One of the major points of emphasis of this series is the inclusion of a 50-over match, which has raised great interest among the fans. The longer-format game, as compared to 20-over cricket, will provide the teams an opportunity to show their skills beyond the T20 format, guaranteeing an exciting and strategic encounter for cricket lovers.
This series is more than an amalgamation of matches—it underscores the development of women’s cricket in Namibia. Cricket Namibia invites supporters to be a part of this gripping spectacle, whereby two of Africa’s top Associate teams will be facing each other in an action-packed display of quality women’s cricket on home soil.
