Australian icon Ellyse Perry and star Sophie Molineux may well be aware of each other’s game on the cricketing field but how well do they fare when put to the test off the pitch? In a fun-filled video shared by the Australian women’s team on social media, the dynamic duo take part in a lighthearted guessing game where they answer personal and lifestyle questions about each other.

Sounds easy? Well, there’s a twist in the tale —while one is answering, the other has their headphones on, completely unaware of what’s being answered by the companion.
From favourite foods and animals to childhood heroes, Perry and Molineux try their best to guess each other’s answers, leading to plenty of laughter, unexpected revelations, and some hilariously off-the-mark guesses.
When asked about Sophie’s favorite food, Ellyse Perry confidently started with “Yoghurt and Granola” but then playfully suggested that Sophie might have a taste for something more uniquely Australian—Kangaroo! Meanwhile, when it was Sophie’s turn, she admitted she personally enjoys cereal and took a wild guess that Perry’s go-to meal would be waffles.
Perry was quick to name her favorite animal—a Platypus. But when it came to Sophie’s choice, she hesitated, unsure whether Molineux even liked animals, before settling on a dog as a safe choice. On the flip side, Sophie made it clear she isn’t much of an animal person but hit the Bull’s eye by naming Perry’s favorite to be a Platypus.
Perry named the Parramatta Eels as her favorite team and took a shot at guessing Sophie’s, landing on Collingwood. Sophie, on the other hand, confidently named Collingwood as her own favorite but mistakenly thought Perry’s preferred pick was Fremantle.
When it came to childhood idols, Perry named Olympic swimming legend Susie O’Neill as her inspiration and assumed Sophie’s hero might have been AFL star Dale Thomas. Sophie, however, had a heartwarming answer—her childhood hero was none other than Ellyse Perry herself! As for Perry’s idol, Sophie guessed it was her dad, showing just how well she understands her teammate.
The Australian team had a mixed baggage of emotions in the international circuit during the season of 2024-25. In the biggest limited overs tournament, the T20 World Cup, Australia looked a formidable force until they were outclassed by eventual runners-up South Africa in the semifinal, leaving the UAE shores with a disappointing story. During the bilateral series, they remained unbeaten, beating visitors India and hosts New Zealand by a margin of clean sweeps.
The most precious moment of glory came up against arch-rivals England in the multi-format Ashes series- crunching the English by a hefty margin of 16-0.
As Cricket Australia unveiled the schedule for the upcoming cricketing calendar, all eyes are on the epic showdown between India and Australia who will lock horns in 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is, followed by a much-anticipated historic Test match at the WACA Ground in Perth.
