Sterre Kalis fifty and Beth Langston’s cameo propels Yorkshire to 142/7

The Blaze new-ball bowlers got them off to a dream start, removing the top three, reducing Yorkshire to 14/3 in the 5th over of the innings inside the powerplay, after skipper Tammy Beaumont won the toss and opted to bowl first in the grand finale.

Wicket-keeper batter Maddie Ward joined Sterre Kalis at the crease and the pair led the revival of their side with a much-needed 55-run partnership for the 4th wicket. Kathryn Bryce broke the ominous stand by removing the wicket-keeper batter Maddie Ward (21 off 22 balls) in the 12th over of the innings, to provide the crucial 4th breakthrough for The Blaze.

Decent partnerships throughout the rest of the innings guided them closer to the 150-run mark. The Rachel Slater-led side posted a decent total of 142/7 in their quota of 20 overs. Sterre Kalis (60 off 44 balls) completed a brilliant half-century, while Beth Langston (26* off 15 balls) provided the finishing touches with the bat for Yorkshire.

Kathryn Bryce (4-1-8-3) was exceptional with the ball for The Blaze, while Grace Ballinger (4-1-21-2), and Olivia Baker (4-0-31-2) were impressive with the ball for The Blaze.

Michaela Kirk soon followed her back to the pavilion to provide the 2nd breakthrough for Yorkshire. Kathryn Bryce joined skipper Tammy Beaumont at the crease and the duo took their side to the brink of victory with a match-defining 69-run partnership for the 3rd wicket. Skipper Tammy Beaumont (65 off 53 balls) couldn’t finish unbeaten, as she chipped one back to Ria Fackrell to provide the 3rd breakthrough for Yorkshire in the 19th over of the innings.

Nonetheless, Tammy Beaumont inflicted the damage on the opposition before her departure. The Bryce sisters Kathryn (28* off 27 balls) and Sarah (1* off 2 balls) guided their side over the line with 7 wickets and an over to spare. As a result, they were crowned as the champions of the Abu Dhabi Women’s T20 Counties Super Cup 2025.
