The 20-year-old opening batter in the recently concluded Senior Women’s One Day Trophy, from 7 outings, amassed 527 runs at an average of 75.29, a strike rate of 152.31, and notched up a couple of fifties and as many centuries. Shafali has had a successful campaign this domestic season so far and will be backed to carry this momentum into the Senior Women’s One Day Challenger Trophy, leading the scoring yet again.
Tanusree Sarkar
The 26-year-old all-rounder, from 10 outings in the 2024-25 Senior Women’s One Day Trophy, accumulated 341 runs at an average of 42.63, while also taking 10 wickets and maintaining an economy rate of 5.01. Tanusree has had a successful domestic season so far and can be relied upon to extend this purple patch into the Senior Women’s One Day Challenger Trophy, producing the goods with both bat and ball.
Tanisha Singh
The 21-year-old top-order batter, in a recent One Day competition, racked up 357 runs from just 7 outings at an average of 51.00, recording a fifty and two centuries, with the highest score of 116, while also being handy with the ball. Notably, Tanisha, in her previous couple of outings, claimed 4 wickets and scored 137 runs. She has been a consistent performer in recent times and can be counted on for an all-round effort.
Saranya Gadwal
The 23-year-old leg-spinner, at an average of 7.60 and an economy rate of 12.68, scalped as many as 21 wickets from only 7 outings in the recently concluded Senior Women’s One Day Trophy. Saranya is a seasoned campaigner in the domestic circuit who has produced match-winning figures time and again for Andhra, and given her recent success, she will be relied upon to produce breakthroughs and lead the tally.
Pitch:
With the track being on the slower side, batting has not been easy, and a modest average score at the venue suggests the same. Bowlers, especially spinners, dictate the proceedings of the game, requiring batters to take calculated risks.
Weather:
With partly cloudy skies and a low chance of rain, the conditions are pleasant in Chennai for cricket. The temperature is forecasted to hover in the early 20s (°C), with light winds and a humidity level of 58%.
