Following the Twenty20 (T20) competitions, the senior women’s domestic teams now shift focus to the One-Dayers, with the 2024-25 Senior Women’s One Day Trophy set to commence on the 4th of December 2024. In the opening-day fixtures, match no. 14 will see Maharashtra and Saurashtra lock horns at the Airforce Complex Ground, New Delhi, starting at 9:00 AM Indian Standard Time (IST).

Kiran Navgire

The 30-year-old middle-order batter, from 7 outings in the 2023-24 One Day Trophy, added 158 runs at an average of 26.33 and a strike rate of 124.40. Kiran has kicked off this domestic season on a positive note, adding 162 runs from 4 outings, though 125 runs came in a single inning. She will be counted on for multiple big scores.

Shradda Pokharkar

The 28-year-old pacer finished as the 2nd highest wicket-taker in the Senior Women’s One Day Trophy last season, claiming 18 wickets from 8 outings, maintaining an economy rate of 3.66. This season, Shraddha claimed 6 wickets from 5 T20 outings, at an economy rate of 5.14, and can be relied upon to lead the wicket tally again this season.

Ayushi Patel

The 22-year-old all-rounder didn’t find much success in the One Day Trophy last season. However, in the 2024 Senior Women’s T20 Trophy, she posted 120 runs at a strike rate of 111.11 from 6 outings, while also being among the wickets. She has had a promising start to this season, and it is hoped she capitalizes on this start, delivering all-round efforts.

Neha Chavda

The 31-year-old leg-spinner picked up 9 wickets at an economy rate of 2.07 from 5 outings in the 2023-24 Senior Women’s One Day Trophy. Neha had a decent start to this domestic season, taking 6 wickets from as many outings, at an economy rate of 4.22, in the T20 competition. She is a seasoned spinner and can be banked upon to produce breakthroughs.

Pitch:

The center strip at the Airforce Complex Ground makes for a well-balanced wicket, providing a fair contest between bat and ball. The pitch offers assistance to both spinners and pacers while also favoring the batters, resulting in an average score in the 230s.
