The Irish side is currently on a tour to Bangladesh for a limited-over series which began on November 27 with three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and now will be followed by three T20Is. The host, Bangladesh clean swept the ODI series with clinical performances and now have announced their squad for the first two T20Is against the visitors.

Nigar Sultana Joty will continue to lead the 15-player squad in their first T20I series since the conclusion of the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, where Bangladesh had a forgettable outing winning only one out of the four matches and finished fourth. The upcoming series against Ireland perhaps provides an opportunity to bounce back.

For the T20Is against Ireland, Bangladesh has retained the majority of their core group from the squad which appeared in the 2024 T20 World Cup, with 12 of the 15 players retaining their spots. Shanti Rani, Disha Biswas and Sultana Khatun are those three players who featured in the World Cup squad but aren’t part of the two T20Is against Ireland.

The batting group consists of the Bangladeshi skipper Nigar Sultana with the side relying on her who was also the leading run scorer for the side in the 2024 world cup. While Murshida Khatun and Taj Nehar are the other batters being part of the squad. After an impressive performance in the three ODIs, Sharmin Akhter Supta is also part of the T20I squad. The right-handed batter was the leading run scorer in the three ODIs with 211 runs in three innings which included two fifties.
