Tanuja Kanwer’s all-round show in vain as Team E seals back-to-back wins

Team D batters failed miserably, including a golden duck for the skipper Shafali Verma after she won the toss and opted to bat first. Team D somehow managed to creep towards the 100-run mark, ending up with a total of 91/9 in their quota of overs. The 29-run 2nd wicket partnership between Dhara Gujjar and Humairaa Kaazi, along with a 20-run 6th wicket partnership between Kiran Navgire and Tanuja Kanwer provided some substance to their innings. Those two partnerships contributed to around 54% of the team’s runs.

Humairaa Kaazi (20 off 23 balls), Tanuja Kanwer (17 off 16 balls), and wicket-keeper batter Mamatha (13* off 15 balls) were the crucial contributors with the bat for Team D. Skipper Radha Yadav (3-0-8-3), P Naik (4-0-14-2), and Mamta Paswan (4-0-18-1) played an instrumental role in triggering a collapse of the Shafali Verma-led side.

A spirited effort from Team D bowlers made the Radha Yadav-led side work hard for their runs and earn their victory as Team E eventually got over the line with five wickets in hand and 22 balls to spare. Wicket-keeper batter Nandini Kashyap chipped in with another match-defining knock of 48* off 50 balls, holding one end, and guiding her side over the line in the run chase. Simran Shaikh (17 off 16 balls), and Sajana S (17 off 20 balls) were the other performers with the bat for Team E.

The 43-run 3rd wicket partnership between Sajana S and wicket-keeper batter Nandini Kashyap steadied the innings in the run chase, which also happened to be the highest partnership of the run chase for Team E. Tanuja Kanwer led Team D’s fightback with the ball as she returned with stunning figures of (4-2-2-3) with the ball alongside Saima Thakor (4-0-27-2), and Krutikaben (4-0-22-0). Team E skipper Radha Yadav was awarded the Player of the Match for her brilliant spell (3-0-8-3) with the ball for her side.

Richa Ghosh and Harleen Deol brings Team A back to winning ways

A clinical show from Team C’s top order propelled them to a solid total of 158/5 in their quota of 20 overs after skipper Minnu Mani won the toss and opted to bat first. The top order was responsible for around 70% of the team’s total. The 46-run opening stand between Dinesh Vrinda (30 off 17 balls) and Shweta Sehrawat was followed by another 62-run 2nd wicket partnership between Tripti Singh (32 off 31 balls), and Shweta Sehrawat (48 off 40 balls), playing a crucial role in taking Team C closer to the 160-run mark.

Hani Patel (4-0-20-1), Arundhati Reddy (4-0-36-1), Mita Paul (3-0-19-1), and Saika Ishaque (3-0-22-1) were the stand-out performers with the ball for Team A. Chasing a target of 159, Team A eventually got over the line with five wickets in hand and three balls to spare.

The 68-run 3rd wicket partnership between skipper Harleen Deol and wicket-keeper batter Richa Ghosh and another crucial 51-run 4th wicket partnership between Mita Paul and wicket-keeper batter Richa Ghosh was at the heart of their run chase with around 74% of the contribution in the team’s total. Wicket-keeper batter Richa Ghosh (60 off 40 balls), skipper Harleen Deol (46 off 36 balls), K P Choudhary (16* off 7 balls), and Arundhati Reddy (10* off 5 balls) played a crucial role with the bat for Team A in the run chase.
