Pakistan Cricket Board launches Nationwide Women’s Cricket talent hunt

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to embark on an initiative to discover and nurture cricketing talent among women across Pakistan. Starting August 5, the PCB will host a series of open trials designed to identify promising cricketers at the grassroot level, with the aim of strengthening the women’s national cricket team.

This historic event will feature open trials in regions across the country, including a unique debut in the stunning Sost Valley, Gilgit-Baltistan—a region renowned for its cricket enthusiasm. The trials will unfold in two distinct phases, ensuring broad participation and comprehensive scouting.

Schedule of Trials:

First Phase: August 5-7

The initial phase of the trials will take place from August 5 to 7 in the northern areas of Gilgit, Hunza, and Sost. The schedule is as follows:

Second Phase: August 21 – September 3

The second phase will commence on August 21 and continue until September 3, with rescheduling options available for inclement weather.

The trials are open to players in two categories: U19 and emerging players. To be eligible for the U19 trials, players must be born on or after September 1, 2005. For the convenience of participants, an online registration form will soon be available. Players are required to bring their filled forms along with original and copies of their Birth certificates/B-forms/CNIC to the trials. Registration will also be possible on-site at each venue.

This initiative is set to provide a significant boost to women’s cricket in Pakistan, offering new opportunities for young female cricketers and aiming to uncover hidden talent in various regions.
