Carmichael joined the Sixers last season after spending seven seasons with the Perth Scorchers, where she won the WBBL|07 title.

In her first season with the Sixers, Carmichael contributed 117 runs in 11 matches, including a Player of the Match performance against the Hurricanes in Hobart, which helped keep the Sixers’ finals hopes alive. Throughout her WBBL career, she has accumulated 376 runs with a strike rate of 103.3 in 56 appearances.

In the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL), Carmichael plays for Western Australia, where she was one of the state’s leading run-scorers last summer with 236 runs.

Like a few other Australian cricketers, Carmichael also played multiple sports growing up. The 30-year-old, born and raised in New South Wales, excelled in both cricket and hockey as a junior. She rose through the ranks to join the Australian Hockeyroos squad before fully committing to cricket and relocating to Western Australia in 2016.

Sydney Sixers General Manager Rachael Haynes expressed her satisfaction with securing Carmichael for another season, highlighting her invaluable knowledge and experience. Haynes emphasized Carmichael’s versatility in the batting order, providing the team with great flexibility.

“The club is really pleased to secure Tilly for another season. Her versatility to shift up or down the order gives us great flexibility, but it’s the knowledge and experience that she brings to our group that is invaluable,” Haynes said.

The recent additions of Mathilda Carmichael and bowler Courtney Sippel have left the Sydney Sixers with two remaining domestic spots on their roster for the upcoming season.
