The Northern Superchargers skipper Hollie Armitage and the 19-year-old pacer Emmerson Filsell joins South Australia for the upcoming edition of the WNCL
South Australia led by skipper Jemma Barsby had a season to forget in the recently concluded edition of the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL), in February, earlier this year. They ended up 6th on the points table with 19 points from 12 games. Their four victories this season came against Queensland, Western Australia, and Australian Capital Territory.
South Australia have added a couple of new recruits in the form of the local 19-year-old pacer Emmerson Filsell and the Northern Superchargers skipper Hollie Armitage as an overseas recruit for the upcoming 2024/25 season of the WNCL. The 19-year-old pacer Emmerson Filsell rose to fame when she picked up 20 wickets for Kensington and was named in the Premier Cricket Team of the Year 2023/24. She has earned her first State contract. She also picked up six wickets while representing South Australia at the under-19 National Championships in December last year.

She has also represented Tasmania at the domestic level in Australia and Sydney Sixers in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) in the 5th edition of the tournament in the year 2019.
“We are really pleased to have kept our core group together for the 2024/25 season, with the additions of Emmerson and Hollie suiting the squad well and we can’t wait to get stuck into pre-season.” The newly appointed South Australia head coach Michael Delaney is pleased about signing the duo of Emmerson Filsell and Hollie Armitage and retaining the core squad ahead of the upcoming edition of the WNCL.
