The first-ever International Cricket Council (ICC) organized, Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup is scheduled to be played in South Africa early next year. Every nation taking part in the tournament has got its blueprints in place looking to build a strong cricketing pool for the mega ICC event. Australia aiming for a memorable first-ever U-19 T20I tournament has scheduled a three-match T20 series.
Cricket Australia’s (CA’s) Youth Selection Panel (YSP) have announced a squad of 25 players that next month are scheduled to play in the Under-19 (Meg) Lanning vs (Ellyse) Perry Series at the National Cricket Campus in Brisbane. The selection was finalized by the YSP with the support of State and Territory Associations through nominations based on performances.

Victorian Assistant coach Dulip Samaraweera has been named as the coach of one of the squads.
Cricket Victoria’s (CV’s) Head of Female Cricket, Sharelle McMahon said, “We’re thrilled to see such strong Victorian representation across the squad. It is a fantastic reward for the six players selected after they’ve performed well in previous underage carnivals for Vic Metro and Vic Country.
“We’re always looking to get more matches into our players and to build depth through our Victorian squads, these matches against quality opposition will provide an excellent development opportunity.
“It’s also a great reward for Dulip Samaraweera to be recognized as one of the leading coaches in the female game, Dulip does a mountain of work with our Victorian squad and is a highly respected figure.”

The series presents players with an opportunity to force themselves into the Australian XI for the inaugural edition of the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup that’ll be held in South Africa in January 2023. The final selection for Australia’s squad will take place at the U-19 National Championships in December.
