On 15th June 2024, Pakistan’s all-rounder cricketer Kainat Imtiaz took to Instagram to announce the arrival of her newborn baby girl. The 31-year-old right-handed batter and right-arm medium-fast bowler shared the exciting news with pictures of herself and her husband, Mohammad Waqar Uddin, holding their baby girl.
Kainat Imtiaz married Mohammad Waqar Uddin in March 2022, and now are parents to a baby girl. The photo she shared garnered a lot of love and congratulatory messages from fans and was met with an outpouring of joy from the cricketing community and beyond. Her Pakistan teammates Fatima Sana, Omaima Sohail, Nashra Sandhu, Diana Baig, Sadia Iqbal, Muneeba Ali, and current captain Nida Dar, along with former captains Javeria Khan and Bismah Maroof, India’s Deepti Sharma, and Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu, were among those who extended their heartfelt congratulations in the comments.
Kainat Imtiaz, a right-handed batter and right-arm medium-fast bowler, last played for her national side in January 2023, during a One Day International (ODI) against Australia in Brisbane. She made her international debut in October 2010 against South Africa during the 3rd Place Play-off of the ICC Women’s Cricket Twenty20 Challenge at Potchefstroom, where she picked up two wickets in an impressive debut performance.
Kainat has also played domestic cricket for various teams, including Karachi, Sindh, Omar Associates, Saif Sports Saga, State Bank of Pakistan, and Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited. As of 2024, she has played 40 international matches for Pakistan, scoring 271 runs and taking 18 wickets.
