The Sri Lanka women’s team led by skipper Chamari Athapaththu were last involved in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier in the UAE. They booked their spot in the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup courtesy of their comprehensive 68-run victory against Scotland in the final. The runners-up Scotland also booked their maiden appearance in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Bangladesh. As far as the ODI format is concerned, they were involved in a three-match ODI series against South Africa. They managed to draw (1-1) the three-match ODI series. The Sri Lankan women’s team led by skipper Chamari Athapaththu will host the West Indies led by skipper Hayley Matthews for a three-match ODI series followed by a three-match T20I series.
A few days ago, the visitors West Indies announced their squads for the white-ball series against Sri Lanka. Now, this time it’s the hosts that have announced their ODI squad for their upcoming series.
