The West Indies women’s team led by skipper Hayley Matthews recently played an away bilateral series against Pakistan. The series included a three-match ODI series followed by a five-match ODI series. West Indies managed to whitewash Pakistan (3-0) in the three-match ODI series. They also clinched the five-match T20I series by a (4-1) margin.

In their next assignment, the Hayley Matthews-led side will host Sri Lanka led by skipper Chamari Athapaththu for a three-match ODI series followed by a three-match T20I series. The series will commence on 15th June 2024 and will conclude on 28th June 2024. The ODI series will be a part of the ICC Women’s Championship with top five teams, including the hosts, India earning a direct qualification for the upcoming ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025. West Indies are currently placed 7th on the points table with 14 points from 15 matches.

Skipper Hayley Matthews was the leading run-scorer (325 runs in three innings) and the leading wicket-taker of the ODI series and she was also awarded the Player of the Series against Pakistan. She was also the leading run-scorer (205 runs in five innings) and the leading wicket-taker (seven wickets) and was also awarded the Player of the Series in the T20I series against Pakistan.
