The 26-year-old batter Mikayla Hinkley has been a part of the New South Wales Under-15 and Under-18 sides respectively at the domestic level. After plying her trade for Queensland Fire in the last edition of the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL), she has made a switch to West Australia for the upcoming edition of the tournament.

She was the fourth-highest run-scorer for Queensland Fire in the last edition with 295 runs at a strike rate of 56.62 at an impressive average of 36.87 in nine innings. The Georgia Redmayne-led side ended the season as the runners-up of the tournament as they ended up on the losing side against Tasmania led by skipper Elyse Villani courtesy of a six-wicket defeat.

In the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) she has represented four franchises namely, the Brisbane Heat, Hobart Hurricanes, Perth Scorchers, and Sydney Thunder so far, since making her WBBL debut on 6th December 2015 while representing Sydney Thunder. She has scored 27 runs at a strike rate of 150 in four innings for the franchise.

She moved to Perth Scorchers in the 3rd edition of the tournament. She scored 11 runs in a couple of innings for the franchise. She then moved to Hobart Hurricanes in the fourth edition of the tournament. She scored 74 runs in four innings for the Hobart Hurricanes. She then switched to the Brisbane Heat in the fifth edition of the tournament in the year 2019. She has scored 236 runs at a strike rate of 95.93 in 27 innings with the bat so far for the Brisbane Heat which is also her current franchise in the WBBL.
