Great news coming in for Australia’s domestic women cricketers. The Hurricanes Foundation Females Northern Rookie trial is scheduled to be held on 7th September 2019 at NTCA Ground in Launceston.

All the clubs who participate in the Cricket North and Cricket North West competitions can nominate their players for the trial. In addition to this, female cricketers from Greater North can also self-nominate themselves to attend the trial.

Players of 16 years of age or above need to register online to take part in the event. Hurricanes Women’s Head Coach Salliann Briggs will be attending the trial beginning from 9 am in the morning.

The Hurricanes Foundation Northern Rookie Program is designed to give aspiring young Tasmanian players an invaluable experience of what is involved with being a member of the Hurricanes squad. The successful players will be considered members of their respective Big Bash squads and will be attending training sessions, matches and pre-session commitments during the upcoming Women’s Big Bash League summer season.
