The Thailand women’s team led by skipper Naruemol Chaiwai were last involved in the Asian Cricket Council Women’s Premier Cup. They reached the semi-final by defeating Hong Kong in the quarter-final by three wickets. However, they ended up on the losing side by four runs against the United Arab Emirates to end their journey in the tournament.
The Thailand women’s team will now be involved in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier in Abu Dhabi in their bid to book a spot in the big ICC event, i.e. the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup later this year. Thailand is placed in Group A alongside Sri Lanka, Scotland, Uganda, and the USA.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals and the two finalists will qualify for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, in Bangladesh scheduled to take place in September-October later this year.
