Darcie Brown the Australian pace sensation has been ruled out of Australia’s upcoming tour of Bangladesh due to a navicular stress fracture in her left foot and no timeframe has been placed on her return.
Missing Brown’s service could be a big loss for the Australian team in the preparation of the upcoming T20 World Cup in October-November in Bangladesh itself. Brown last featured in a 3-day domestic game in March between Australia Green and Australia Gold. Notably, she sent down 18.1 overs in the game.
Grace Harris, who was only in the T20I squad, has been added to the ODI squad and will fly early now and join the team for the whole tour as she has completed her part with UP Warriorz in the WPL 2024.
Tayla Vlaeminck who got her name in the squad for the first time since January 2022 could be a possible addition to the playing XI after Brown’s injury.
Additionally, Jess Jonassen is still not considered for any of the two Australian squads after amazing spells and overall performances in the ongoing Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024. Heather Graham, who was kept on as stand-by for the series, is unavailable for selection for undisclosed medical reasons.
