Ulverstone has appointed Sam Cotton as the new women’s coach for the 2019-2020 Cricket North West season.
Talking about her main agenda of this coaching assignment, Cotton said, “I’m looking forward to getting into some technical stuff with the girls to help them develop their batting – I think that’s an area of the competition that needs developing.” “I think it hurt a little to get to the grand final for the first time since 2012, put in a good bowling performance but then come out and not make the runs,” she continued.
Ulverstone finished on the top of the points table last season, only to be defeated by Latrobe in the finals.
Expressing her views on the team selection, she said, “We’ll have a lot of the same faces back and we’ve got some good juniors in the team like Laura Indge and Kelcie Brown, along with those outside the team like Kalea Leary that will push for selection.”
