In a recent report, Nepal has announced central contracts for the upcoming 2024 season. A total of 19 players from the women’s category have secured national contracts for the upcoming season.

The contracts are divided into four categories namely, Grade A, Grade B, Grade C, and Grade D. Three players namely, skipper Indu Barma, Rubina Chhetri, and Sita Rana Magar are placed in the A category. They will now receive a monthly salary of 50 thousand. All three players from the category were recently involved in the ACC Women’s Premier Cup and all of them displayed impressive performances for Nepal. However, they were knocked out in the 2nd semi-final courtesy of their 4-wicket defeat against Malaysia.

Sita Rana Magar was the 2nd highest run scorer for Nepal in the tournament with 106 runs to her name in five innings. Skipper Indu Barma scored 92 runs in five innings for Nepal. Rubina Chhetri was the leading run-scorer for Nepal in the tournament with 155 runs at an impressive strike rate of 150.48 in 4 innings. Apart from her exploits with the bat, she also picked eight wickets with the ball in 5 innings, playing a crucial role in helping her side make it to the semi-final of the tournament.

Kabita Kunwar is the only player in the B category and she will now receive 35 thousand per month for the upcoming year. Puja Mahato and Ashmina Karmacharya are the two players listed in the C category. They will now receive 30 thousand per month for the upcoming season. Apsari Begam, Kabita Joshi, Sangita Rai, Kajol Shrestha, and Bindu Rawal are the five players placed in the D category. They will now receive 25 thousand per month for the upcoming season.

A total of eight players namely, Sony Pakhrin, Khusi Dangol, Shristi Jaisi, Jyotsinka Marasini, Rubi Poddar, Samjhana Khadka, Sana Praveen and Kanchan Shrestha are included in the Emerging category. They will now receive 20 thousand per month for the upcoming 2024 season.
