Rumana Ahmed ruled out of Women’s T20 World Cup qualifier

Bangladesh has announced a 14-member squad for the Women’s T20 World Cup qualifier to be played from 31st August in Scotland. The main takeaways from the list are as follows:

  1. Salma Khatun to lead the Bangladesh women side
  2. Youngsters Murshida Khatun and Sobhana Mostary recalled into the national side
  3. All-rounder Rumana Ahmed ruled out of the mega-event due to a knee injury
  4. Bangladesh Cricket Board’s women’s wing manager, Nazmul Abedeen confirmed the exclusion of Ahmed and said, “We cannot consider her for the World T20 qualifier as she is going through a recovery program and it will take quite some time for her to recover fully.” “It is certainly a big loss considering she is an experienced cricketer and we will miss that experience in the middle,” she added.
