Bangladesh has announced a 14-member squad for the Women’s T20 World Cup qualifier to be played from 31st August in Scotland. The main takeaways from the list are as follows:
- Salma Khatun to lead the Bangladesh women side
- Youngsters Murshida Khatun and Sobhana Mostary recalled into the national side
- All-rounder Rumana Ahmed ruled out of the mega-event due to a knee injury
- Bangladesh Cricket Board’s women’s wing manager, Nazmul Abedeen confirmed the exclusion of Ahmed and said, “We cannot consider her for the World T20 qualifier as she is going through a recovery program and it will take quite some time for her to recover fully.” “It is certainly a big loss considering she is an experienced cricketer and we will miss that experience in the middle,” she added.
