Kapp’s exceptional performance in the second match of the South Africa three-game ODI series against Australia earned her the esteemed Player of the Match title. She showcased a remarkable all-round performance by exhibiting her batting skills by scoring an impressive 75 runs, but she also showcased her bowling prowess by claiming figures of 3/12. Her performance played a pivotal role in securing victory for South Africa but also significantly boosted her standing in the player rankings.

ODI batting rankings

As far as the ODI batting rankings are concerned Australia’s Beth Mooney maintained third place after she topped the run-scoring charts with an impressive total of 134 runs in the series against South Africa. Marizanne Kapp earned a massive rise in the ODI bowlers ranking; the 34-year-old jumped seven places, positioning just behind the leading player, England’s Sophie Ecclestone. She claimed four wickets throughout the series with an outstanding average of just 10 and an incredible economy rate of 2.85.

With her sudden rise, the Australian seamer Megan Schutt drops to third place in the rankings with 3 wickets at an average of 12 in 2 innings, while her teammate Alana King advances one spot to 13th on the ODI bowlers list, concluding her as the leading wicket-taker, claiming a total of seven South African dismissals at an average of 10.14 in 3 innings.

Bowling all-rounder Kim Garth secured six wickets, propelling her to a new career-high rating and elevating ten places to equal 28th position with 436 points alongside Sophie Devine in the list, while proteas’ trio Masabata Klaas climbed up two places to 24th with 5 wickets in 3 innings, Chloe Tryon jumped up seven spots to 43rd with 2 wickets in 3 innings, and Eliz-Mari Marx surged up 45 places to equal 75th with 260 points alongside Stafanie Taylor of West Indies, making some eye-catching jumps.

In the ODI all-rounder rankings, Australia stars: King climbs up four places to 19th with 7 wickets and 17 runs in 3 innings, Tahlia McGrath jumps up five spots to 21st with 66 runs and 6 wickets in 3 innings, and Kim Garth surges up eight places to equal Sune Luus’ 36 position with 101 points. Chloe Tryon’s commendable performance of 2 wickets and 57 runs also helped her move two spots, resulting in her position inside the top 10 for all-rounders.
