Harmanpreet Kaur fined 75% of Match Fees for her behaviour at Dhaka Stadium

After all the drama that happened at the Dhaka Stadium during 3rd and last ODI between India and Bangladesh, it has been learned that Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain of the Indian women’s cricket team has been fined 75% of her match fees and 4 demerits points in total.

Harmanpreet Kaur who was given out by the on-field umpire created controversy after the captain smashed the stumps in anger, showing her disagreement and argued with the umpire before heading back to the pavilion.

Netizens had mixed reactions to this behavior of Harmanpreet Kaur. While some hailed her for calling out poor umpiring standards, others criticized the captain for her conduct during the game as well as the presentation ceremony.

A match official confirmed the development to Cricbuzz on Sunday adding that it was a level two offence.

Harmanpreet Kaur didn’t hold her emotions in the presentation ceremony as well, calling it a “pathetic umpiring.”

“For the on-field incident (smashing the wicket) she will be fined 50 percent of her match fee while for the way she represented herself in the presentation ceremony, she will be fined 25 percent of her match fee,” the official told Cricbuzz.

It was also reported that Harmanpreet Kaur made some remarks to the captain of the Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team Nigar Sultana Joty amidst the official photo session.
