The announcement of the Inaugural edition of the Major League Cricket will play a crucial role in the rise of cricket in the country. The commencement of the first-ever franchise cricket league in the country will mark a new don for aspiring cricketers in the country. A lot of high business profile leaders have invested in the new league including the likes of Satya Nadella (Microsoft CEO), and Shantanu Narayen (Adobe chairman and CEO) are a few of the big names involved in this league.

The USA Women’s team last played an International game on 25th September 2022 against UAE in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier 2022. The 34-year-old wicket-keeper batter Sindhu Sriharsha is the captain of the USA women’s side. She holds the record for the highest percentage of runs scored by a batter in completed innings in the women’s T20Is. She broke the long-held record of Deandra Dottin when she scored an unbeaten knock of 74 against Bangladesh on 21st September 2022. The whole side only managed to accommodate 103 runs in their quota of overs. And the USA skipper was responsible for 71.84% of her team’s runs.

It was in the Inaugural edition of the WPL that the 25-year-old left-arm pacer from America Tara Norris caught everyone’s attention when she ran through Royal Challengers Bangalore’s batting line-up, becoming the first-ever bowler to pick up a 5-wicket haul in the Women’s Premier League, registering her name in the history books.

USA has recently announced the appointment of the new women’s selection panel. The panel will be responsible for identifying the best women players across the country to prepare for the ICC Women’s T20 Qualifier in the USA, scheduled to be held in September.

A thorough process was followed to choose the following five selectors:
