Kevin Mitchell, chairman of Leamington Cricket Club, said, “We are very excited at the prospect of the women and girls’ day and opening up our great game to even more females. This day is aimed at all abilities, whether it be a youngster who has never held a bat before or a teenager looking to hone her hard ball skills – there will be something for everyone, all led by experienced and talented female coaches.”

One of the coaches, Bethan Ellis said, “It should be a great day at the club. More girls than ever before are playing cricket and anything that promotes the game to those who wouldn’t perhaps have taken it up otherwise is a really good thing.”
