South Africa Emerging Women’s team won the second T20 against Bangladesh Emerging Women’s team by six wickets to take the invincible lead in the three match unofficial T20 series being played at Mandela Oval, South Africa.
Put to bat first, Bangladesh A team made a total of 119 runs for the loss of four wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Captain Sultana scored highest runs and remained unbeaten on 44 while Sanjida Islam contributed 33 off 39balls. Tumi Sekhukhune took two wickets and Dane van Niekerk and Evodia Yekile took one wicket each for the bowling side.
In reply, South African Emerging team reached the target in 19.3 overs with six wickets in hand. All-rounder Niekerk made the highest contribution of 50runs on 40balls and remained not out. For Bangladesh team, Shaila Sharmin took two wickets and conceded just 13 runs in her spell.
Earlier, South Africa Emerging Players team registered a thrilling 5runs win in the first T20 and would aim for a whitewash when they take the same opponents in 3rd T20 on 4th August at the same venue.
