Thailand Squad for Tri-series in Netherlands Announced

The women’s national cricket teams of Thailand and Scotland gear up for a Tri-Series in the Netherlands. This tournament will showcase the talent and skill of these teams in an intense battle for supremacy. With matches played in the T20I format, fans can expect a display of power-hitting, precise bowling, and spectacular fielding.

The Cricket Association of Thailand announced its National Women’s Squad for the Netherlands Tour from 1 July to 15 July 2023. Thailand’s women cricketers have been making waves on the international stage with their rapid improvement and exceptional performances. Led by captain Naruemol Chaiwai, the Thailand Women’s squad is brimming with talent.

The Scotland Women’s cricket team, led by their captain Kathryn Bryce, is eager to make their mark in this Tri-Series. The squad comprises talented players such as Chloe Abel who has received her first call-up. Due to scheduling conflicts with their English domestic obligations during the earlier portion of the tour, team captain Kathryn Bryce and vice-captain Sarah Bryce will both be available for just the final two matches. For the first two games, Katherine Fraser will lead the team, with Abtaha Maqsood serving as her deputy.

The Tri-Series, scheduled to commence on July 10th, will feature a total of four matches. The participating teams include the Netherlands, Scotland, and Thailand. Each team will face off against the other in an exciting round-robin format, culminating in a grand finale where the top two teams will compete for the coveted title.

Thailand and Netherlands will also engage in a three-match one-day series from July 3rd to 7th following which Scotland will join them for the tri-series.

Both the Netherlands and Thailand Women’s teams have a track record of impressive performances. The Netherlands Women’s team recently participated in the ECIW Gibraltar tournament, while Thailand Women’s team clinched the gold medal at the South East Asian Games. These experiences will undoubtedly give them the confidence and motivation to excel in this Tri-Series.

Head coach Peter Ross of the Scotland Women’s team expressed the players’ eagerness to get back on the field and compete at the international level. After a long hiatus, the team is thrilled to showcase their skills and make a comeback in the world of international cricket. With both the Netherlands and Thailand having played several series since Scotland’s last international game, the Tri-Series promises to be a highly competitive event.
